I wasn’t always an actor. I was an Intensive Care nurse.

I’ve never regretted my years working in ICU…turns out it was a virtual laboratory in the study of human emotions. While working as a nurse, I found myself “hanging around” theaters, watching & re-watching the same theatrical productions…how did they bring that truthfulness to the stage every night? Thus began “the re-education of Marty Stonerock”. I’d wake up at 5 am (before my shift ) to read Chekhov, Williams, Mamet. I devoured acting classes, spent summers in New York studying at Atlantic Theater Company & New Actor’s Workshop, got an agent & started auditioning. And here I am, after 40 plays, 100 commercials, award winning industrials, tv & film… still as passionate & intent on pursuing that truthful moment.
